Not that the world is waiting with their breath held for an explanation, but if you’re stopping by, you may have noticed that both of my books have been reduced in price to $10 if you buy directly through my printer.
A brief explanation in a couple parts.
First and foremost, I know that poetry isn’t a cash cow these days. Probably never has been, but especially not now when folks are wondering how to stretch their paychecks into groceries and can find a couple thousand spoken word poets on Instagram with a simple search. So when it comes right down to it, if knocking the price down means that more people will read my poems, that’s the most important thing to me.
Secondly, if a person buys directly from the printer, a higher percentage goes to me. Buying through any of the outlets who sell my books is also quite lovely, but they’ve got their own costs to pass along, so the book is going to cost more from them. Totally understand if you’d rather bundle it along with some other stuff or take advantage of a free shipping deal you’ve got with someone else. But, I figured that if I could offer a lower cost and still make a little bit for myself, why not?
